There are some large differences between advanced planning and scheduling vendors and systems. There are a collection of canned systems which can be worth taking a look at if you need to implement fast. Caution though, they can be easy to implement on the front end because you don't need to be concerned about the design of the system but these systems are similar to a prefabbed house. A canned system will sometimes be functional, but they are generally not what you're hoping for in the long run. There are also solutions providers with existing structures who alter their systems to meet the specific needs required by most plants. A customizable system is often a better option because it will be tailored to the needs of the plant, thus making it much more likely to produce a nice ROI and easier for employees to use.
